Lucianne Xavalien
The Vigilant
Personality
Steadfast – Lucianne is unwavering in her convictions. Her loyalty to family and country runs deep, and once she sets her mind to something, it is nearly impossible to sway her.Reserved but Perceptive – Years of disciplined service and personal loss have made her quiet, but not unfeeling. She speaks little, but observes much, often understanding more than she lets on. She is especially sensitive to the moods and needs of those she cares about.Pragmatic and Dispassionate – She rarely indulges in fanciful hopes. Her decisions are guided by experience and logic, not sentiment, though she harbors deep emotion beneath the surface especially when it comes to her brother.Protective – Since Lucien’s injury, her protectiveness has evolved from duty to something more personal and fierce. Threaten someone she cares about, and she becomes as relentless as a Coerthan blizzard.Ritualistic – Her structured mindset leads her to find comfort in routine: sharpening her weapons, cleaning armor, prayer at the Temple of the Fury quiet, sacred repetitions that keep her grounded.Hobbies & Interests1. Reading Historical and Tactical TextsIn her spare time, she reads treatises on Ishgardian military history, tales of heroism from the Dragonsong War, and field tactics. She doesn’t romanticize war, but seeks to learn from it.2. Quiet Needlework or EmbroideryTaught by her mother in childhood, Lucianne took it up again during her brother’s recovery. She doesn't talk about it, but her stitching is precise and elegant. She often embroiders simple symbols—her family crest, Halone’s spears, or Coerthan snowflakes—onto cloth and sashes.3. Walking the ColdShe takes long, silent walks across the frozen landscapes of Coerthas. These moments in the snow are when she reflects, prays, or communes with her thoughts. It’s as much meditation as movement.4. Chess and Strategy GamesShe enjoys games of logic and foresight, especially Ishgardian chess. She plays defensively, always thinking three steps ahead a reflection of her measured, disciplined mindset.5. Temple Offerings and Silent PrayerWhile her faith may not be loud or fervent, it is enduring. She occasionally visits the nearest shrine of Halone, offering simple tokens in quiet devotion—not for favor, but to honor those she’s lost.6. Training Others (Reluctantly)Though she doesn't seek students, young Temple Knights or squires sometimes find themselves corrected mid-swing or pulled aside with a terse, “Again. But properly this time.” She does not tolerate sloppiness and teaches with the same quiet intensity she trains with herself.

The Vigilant
Lucianne was born under the snow-kissed spires of Ishgard alongside her twin brother, Lucien. Their birth, once heralded as a moment of joy, was soon marked by tragedy their father, a loyal Temple Knight, fell in battle mere hours after they came into the world. Their mother, once a bright-eyed noblewoman of minor standing, bore the burden of raising both children alone in a city fractured by war and faith. From a young age, Lucianne was resolute and sharp-minded, displaying an uncanny aptitude for martial disciplines. While her brother dreamed of soaring through the skies as a dragoon, Lucianne sought mastery across multiple weapons, refusing to be bound to a single discipline. Lance, bow, sword and shield each became an extension of her will. This versatility earned her quiet respect among the Temple Knights, even if she never bore the title of Dragoon.Though she took no pride in pageantry, Lucianne carried out her duties with unwavering devotion to Ishgard. Her armor bore the weathering of many battles, yet her spirit never faltered until the day news came that her brother had vanished on a mission, presumed dead. The loss hollowed her. She withdrew from all but the most necessary duties, spending long hours training in isolation, driving herself to exhaustion. It was the only way she knew to cope with sweat, steel, and silence. Then came a whisper of hope: Lucien lived, though he was grievously wounded. When she found him clinging to life in a secluded infirmary on the edge of Coerthas, something in her cracked open. She stayed at his bedside without question, day and night, refusing to leave even when urged to return to duty.Moved by her steadfastness, her superiors granted her an indefinite leave officially under the guise of recovery, but truly a quiet act of compassion. Since then, Lucianne has remained by her brother’s side, acting as both guardian and kin, awaiting the day she may return to Ishgard should her nation call her again.Until that summons comes, Lucianne sharpens her blades and keeps her watch. Her loyalty remains unshaken but for now, her battle is a quieter one, fought in shadows and silence, in service not of state, but of blood.
